The two Michelin stars awarded to Portuguese restaurants, just announced in Tenerife, on the Canary Islands, will be sent directly to the Algarve in the presentation of the 2018 edition of the most famous and influential gastronomic guide in the world.
The new starlets are the Vista restaurants, the young chef João Oliveira, on Rocha beach, Portimão, and Gusto by Heinz Beck, one of the restaurants of the Hotel Conrad Algarve, in Quinta do Lago, Almancil. The distinctions that came from the 2017 edition remain the same.
Michelin stars: "Let's work every day to continue deserving it"
With these new awards, Portugal adds a total of 23 restaurants distinguished by Michelin, five of them with two stars. A situation that a few years ago could not be imagined in the best dreams, but that shows well the galloping evolution of Portuguese cuisine and gastronomy in recent times.
